Omni Air Express started as Omni Air Transport, a Part 135 operator using Learjet aircraft for on demand charter operator and air ambulance services. In 1993 they became a Part 121 carrier and purchased B-727 freighter aircraft and started using the name Omni Air Express. In 1997 the company purchased DC-10 equipment and entered the passenger charter market. Omini Air Express changed its name to Omni Air International and purchased two B-757 passenger aircraft approved for extended range over-water operations.
